History

The City of Gosnells Bush Fire Brigade was formed in 1983 as a result of the amalgamation of the City’s three Bush Fire Brigades, namely Gosnells, Orange Grove and Southern Districts Bush Fire Brigades.  The amalgamation, innovative at the time, saw all of the City’s fire appliances brought together and, for the first time, housed in a fire station/shed (prior to this all appliances were stored at the homes of volunteers).  This ensured a more coordinated approach to resource sharing and provided an enhanced service to the community.

Since 1983, so much has changed:

  • the appliances have all changed several times,
  • technological advancements have come and gone
  • the standard of the equipment and facilities provided for our volunteers has improved
  • even the location of the station.
